AO Simplification Lessons Learned Workshops

Cost and Schedule Lessons Learned Workshop

One of the recommendations from the February 28-29 Discovery, Mars Scout and SMEX AO Lessons Learned Workshop was to hold a follow-up meeting focusing on Cost & Schedule. This follow-on workshop would address the appropriate level of cost and schedule detail for Step 1 proposals, and what is the appropriate format use so that the burden on proposal teams is minimized, yet evaluators have the information that they need.

The AO Cost & Schedule Simplification Workshop has been scheduled for Thursday, April 17, at the DFW Grand Hyatt Hotel (same venue as the initial workshop). The workshop will start at 8 am and will end by 3:30 p.m. so that attendees can catch flights home that evening.

Individuals planning to attend should send an email to aosimplify@nasa.gov. As before, presentations will be solicited from everyone planning to attend.

Discovery, Mars Scout, and Small Explorer (SMEX) Lessons Learned Workshop

The Science Mission Directorate (SMD) at NASA Headquarters has initiated an effort to simplify NASA Announcements of Opportunity (AOs). To support this effort, SMD conducted a Discovery, Mars Scout, and Small Explorer (SMEX) Lessons Learned Workshop to focus on experience and lessons learned these recent proposal cycles. The workshop was held at the Grand Hyatt Hotel at DFW Airport on February 28-29, 2008.
